World Economic Forum publishes a new report including emissions reduction guidelines
Filed in archive Research on February 28, 2009

A new study by World Economic Forum and supported by Accenture shows that only 10 percent of businesses are managing the greenhouse gas emissions in their supply chains, with more than a third having no clue about the size of their supply chain carbon footprint.
World Economic Forum has produced this report (download the PDF here) along with a group of industry experts and the document includes a set of steps that can reduce supply chain emissions related to transportation and logistics.
Though most companies have introduced at least one green initiative in their warehouses, most are losing out on the opportunity to make a bigger dent the greenhouse gas emissions produced by their goods by failing to take a holistic view of their environmental impacts, the survey behind the report found.
The report includes leading practices in energy efficient buildings, carbon foot printing and network optimization and their associated scorecards to enable companies formulate their emissions reduction plans.
