If RFID tags become extremely cheap, it would kill barcodes by the next decade. Working to bring RFID within the reach of everybody, South Korean researchers are claiming to have developed the technology for printing RFID circuits on plastic film. The tags which are made of printed transistors are based on carbon nanotubes and will be the first of its kind in the market. It is expected to hit the market later this year. Researchers are trying to bring down the price of tags to one cent per piece and for this purpose they are working out on a technique to achieve the same.

I believe that they need to make the end consumer aware regarding the technique being developed and how it could change the entire spectrum. This would generate interest in the technology and ensure quick adoption when it is launched. For e.g. they could distribute flyers among the community interested in the technology. There are several flyer design services firms which can not only design flyers but even offer flyer printing services to you. This could work out to be an inexpensive way to promote the technology.
