In conjunction with the Ozark Roundtable of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, the Supply Chain Management Research Center in the Walton College of Business has organized the one-day event. It will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development.
The list of speakers includes:
● Gene Kahn, vice president for Sustainable Development, General Mills
● Chrys Tarvin, vice president of Global Supply Chain, Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
● Jon Johnson, associate professor of management, UA Walton College of Business
● Greg Spencer, Blue Source LLC
● Fred M. Berkheimer, vice president for Logistics, Unilever USA
● Steven South, president of Reverse Logistics for Genco.
● Mark Kerstens, director of Strategic Cooperation, BP-Alternative Energy Group
● Chuck Thomas, Global Supply Chain leader, Dow Chemical Co.
"As we developed the conference, we wanted to share the importance of environmental sustainability to strategic supply chain thinking," said Jim Crowell, director of the Supply Chain Management Research Center. "The speakers will discuss how their companies have done exactly that. Cost savings and innovation, the key elements of traditional supply chain thinking, are important tenants of environmentally sustainable strategies as well."
