Universal Power Group (UPG) plans to implement RedPrairie's warehouse management, visibility and scorecard solutions at three distribution facilities in Dallas, Oklahoma City and Las Vegas. The solutions will give UPG the ability to offer increasingly complex services for customers and provide network-wide visibility - including web-portal based order visibility - so customers can track the status of orders while in process. They will also enable UPG to support sophisticated Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, tracking and controlling customer-owned inventory seamlessly.

Hardin, CEO of UPG, stated, "We are excited about our partnership with RedPrairie, as we'll now be able to provide our customers a more robust portfolio of supply chain solutions, such as the ability to capture and manage performance metrics, as well as improved inventory management and visibility throughout the supply chain. An integral part of our growth strategy is to attract and retain new customers by offering our customers the tools that they need to improve their competitive position in the marketplace. With the implementation of RedPrairie's warehouse management system, we believe we are now better positioned to execute on this strategy."John Jazwiec, CEO of RedPrairie, added, "Third party logistics providers always have to be a step ahead in the services and technology they offer to attract customers. In addition to offering more complex distribution services, UPG will also be more flexible to adapt to new customers' needs more quickly. We believe our Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) offers the scalability UPG needs to support their growth objectives, as the SOA will enable UPG to quickly adapt processes to meet changing requirements. We are glad UPG chose to partner with RedPrairie to support their growth plans."
