Therefore it's not surprising to see marketing innovations in professional education for SCM as well as some schools have already launched low cost supply chain programs...:)
An example of this is an announcement which I originally saw in SC Digest:
ISCEA, which provides testing and certifications in a number of supply chain-related areas, and Transformance Advisors, a consulting and training company, have partnered to provide a real service to supply chain professionals hit by the recession.
The two companies are offering two sessions at which laid-off supply chain professionals can receive training for the ISCEA Certified Supply Chain Analyst certification program for just $50.00 - a substantial discount from the cost of the normal program.
I believe we will see more of these type of education coming, especially by business schools, in 2009.

There is no reason to waste time and money on these questionable programs when there are great on-line programs available...Penn State's SCM Masters progam is a great example. It is cheaper the UOP and taught by the Smeal Business school faculty (PhDs!), not some schlubs off the street. Spend your time and money on a program that will actually help you and quit looking for quick, but meaningless "certifications". through life.
