The new book on supply chain event management
Filed in archive Book Review on April 23, 2008

This post is also about supply chain risk management but a book review: One of the books which I heard a lot of good things about and finally took a look at it is "Strategies and Tactics in Supply Chain Event Management". This book which has been edited by Raschid Ijioui of RWTH Aachen in Germany gathers a nice collection of rather practical insights on how to manage disruptions in different industries. The book talk about the best practices in retail, pharma, aircrafts and several other sectors separately which is quite valuable.
It also talks about the software and KPI requirements in various stages of supply chain and gives recommendations on how to improve them. The book also has a chapter on risk management which I still haven't read (honestly!) but it has been recommended here and here.
Enjoy reading!

Many western ountries while going Multinational dont take into account the difference that they will encounter while developind their supply chian in South Asia resulting . I was wondering if there is any book article aor journal relative to this. Currently I am involved in Developing SC Model for Western countries based on which they can modify their SC system and become sucessfull in emerging market of South Asia . any help or comment in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Operations Management and Logistics have been around for a while, but Supply Chain Management is a relatively new field, and it's still struggling to come up with a uniform language or a uniform perspective on what the term supply chain actually entail...
