The Container Store heads for supply chain improvement
Storage products retailer The Container Store is expanding its use of supply chain execution software from Catalyst International, upgrading its warehouse management system and deploying additional solutions to improve execution speed and quality across its supply chain.

The nation's originator and leading retailer of storage and organization products, The Container Store is headquartered in Coppell, Texas. The company currently has 39 locations across the country. Sales for fiscal year 2006 are projected at an excess of $500 million. The company is privately held.

According to SDCE, in addition to upgrading to version 10 of CatalystCommand Warehouse Management, The Container Store is implementing Slotting Optimization, Transportation Management and Supplier Quality solutions to manage and optimize its expanding retail network and direct-to-consumer distribution channels.

"With the expansion of our store network and increased sales volume, the effectiveness and speed of our distribution network is more critical than ever in delivering the high level of customer service that we're known for," said Christy Parra, director of logistics systems for The Container Store. "We recognize the importance of continuously upgrading our software solutions to meet the increasing needs of our business."

Catalyst offers solutions for supply chain execution, planning and management. Its solutions cater to the enterprises' complex distribution networks in the retail, manufacturing, life sciences, process and consumer packaged good sectors, as well as parts distribution for the automotive, aerospace and electronics industries.
