Supply chain video: Warehousing system implementation in Toyota
Filed in archive Supply chain video on September 23, 2007
Having the right number of SKUs with the right quantity has always been a challenge in the service centers. Many SKUs are slow moving and keeping them is a waste of money: Well, everybody knows that but the huge amount of data which has to be processed in multiple locations and integrating it with demand data to reach the optimum solution is the main challenge.
I found this video about implementation of some supply chain and warehousing modules in Forklift division of Toyota by IBS (a Swedish company). The video talks about how Toyota achieved better service levels, lower stock volume and higher stock rotation - all within six months.
By the way, I appreciate if you tell me what you think about the recent video posts. Do you like them? Do you think they are useful?
