Supply chain video: Visibility and Deployment Options (2)

This is the second part of the video discussion I sent out some days ago on the topic of supply chain visibility. In this video, the participants highlight some of the other points which have been the drivers behind visibility. One is the change in the terms of the contracts with suppliers: Since more than 10 years ago, companies have moved towards performance based contracts with their suppliers and that is logical because the supplier gets paid when the job is done right. But in order to do that, you need to measure the performance and for this you need visibility!



They also talk about the new developments in mobile technology: Now almost everybody has cell phone with GPS capability and you can use that to see where the drivers are and adapt your plan based on such inputs.
