Supply chain video: The most important factor in warehouse design

Here comes a new video: This one is from Ian Robins of Logistics Bureau, who talks about the importance of the warehouse design factors such as product master file.
He mentions that many companies focus on picking technology, shelf size , etc. but he thinks first of all we should think about what this facility is supposed to do and in order to do that, we should gather product data.
His points are quite valid because if we don't know the type of the products which are supposed to be stored here have high out-going or in-going rate, are fragile or not, are seasonal or not etc., it would be impossible to design an optimum warehouse.

Great post and interesting video. I agree 100% with him, as it is very very VERY important to figure out your inputs of a process before you can design a system for the outputs. Consider the example of ordering a computer system for your house without knowing what you needed it for.
