What would you do if you are in the restaurant business and you have problems with disruptions in your supply network? Well, there are three basic options:
- First is to create a new proprietary network which helps the company to have more control over the supply base but also distracts the firm from its core business.
-Second, might be using third party logistics providers such as UPS which are good in terms of service quality and logistics experience but they don't know restaurant business.
-And last, working with existing food supply network under the new model.
Darden Restaurants was facing these three options and they went for the last one. In this video you will find some interesting insights on why they chose to go for this option and the results, enjoy it!
