Ariba, the provider of spend management solutions, is spending :) lots of money recently to promote the on-demand solutions it's offering the practices associated with them. Among some of the materials they have published recently I came across this video which is a nice interview with Mark Perera. Mark is co-founder of Procurement Leaders and talks about their research on Supply Chain Finance. He highlights the opportunities, case studies, strategies and pitfalls of this Spend Management tool, which is gaining momentum in the current, risky economy. Specifically he mentions high 94% of the companies in car business have put working capital reduction in their agenda and gives examples of the firms like KPN (Telecom operator in Netherlands) and Syngenta and their initiatives.
