Supply Chain Management Review recently released its outlook for supply chain technology in 2008. According to the magazine, companies are buying more collaborative technologies this year (internal and external) and especially the market of the solutions in the area of VMI and S&OP is very hot.

The motivation of the companies for acquiring these solutions typically falls into one of the following categories:

- Productivity increase
- Reduces supply chain working capital

That's about it, only it's good to add that compliance software for supply chain which is starting to get more attention and I myself predict that it will be one of the top 5 priorities next year.
