Spartan Stores hires supply-chain executive

Grocery wholesaler Spartan Stores Inc. on Friday named Derek Jones links

, executive vice president, supply chain, Hemscott reported.

Jones was previously vice president of distribution for Unisource Worldwide Inc., a paper distributor and marketer. He has also held supply chain positions at Office Depot Inc. and Wallgreen Co.

Spartan Stores shares fell 17 cents to $17.15 during afternoon trading on the Nasdaq.
