South Africa will be represented at the APICS conference in Orlando, Florida
South Africa will be represented at the international Association for Operations Management (Apics) conference in Orlando, Florida, later this year, by Barloworld Logistics operations manager Vince Boswell, who will be presenting his case study on "Real World Inventory Optimization" to the delegates, an Association for Operations Management of Southern Africa (Sapics) statement said recently.

According to the Engineering News, the study was aimed at companies that were planning an inventory optimization project, or those that already had implemented one, but achieved worse results than they expected.

Sapics also announced that it had arranged a 50% group discount for local supply chain professionals attending the conference.

The conference, at which some 6 000 delegates were expected, offered educational sessions covering the latest global industry trends, networking opportunities and a comprehensive showcase of new products from leading international suppliers, Sapics said.

Boswell would also be presenting this paper the Apics Australia Conference, in Melbourne, this month.
