Some thoughts on the market of supply chain solutions
Filed in archive Point of view on August 23, 2007
David Gilmore of SC digest, Andrew White of Gartner and nearly every expert in the supply chain software market is saying: These days are good days for SCM solution vendors!
Even the ones which are having OK solutions are selling and this question comes to the mind that why?
Well, there are a number of reasons for this: First of all, the trend of sourcing from Asia is still increasing. This has increased the complexity of the supply chains and companies need technology for it. Another reason is that the hype of becoming Demand-Driven is still around and so companies, with the vision of achieving full visibility are buying tracking technologies and associated software. And at last, the situation of the ERP market has reached an equilibrium and even though the market of big ERP vendors like SAP and Oracle is bigger, Best of Breed vendors are also selling.
Do you see other trends in the market?
