Smart conference to recognize supply chain excellence in Australia
Filed in archive Special Events on October 26, 2006
Supply chain excellence will be recognized with the Smart Awards, as part of next year's Smart supply chain conference in Sydney.
According to Supply Chain Review, companies and individuals in key supply chain and logistics sectors will be recognized at a dinner on June 21 as part of the conference, organizers say.
The event's traditional award for outstanding individual contribution to supply chain management will remain, along with five new awards sponsored by peak industry bodies.
The awards will be given for excellence in transport and logistics, supply chain management and distribution, manufacturing supply chains, procurement and cold chain.
The judging committee will be chaired by Len Harper, the Director of the Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA).
"As Smart only takes place once every two years, these awards will carry a special prestige and aspirational value for participating companies," Harper says.
"We will be encouraging involvement industry-wide and over the next few months will be developing this awards program to ensure winners receive tangible benefits and recognition for their efforts."
