Many logistics professionals who find it hard to enroll in MBA programs or Master programs in logistics, in order to keep themselves up-to-date, choose short term executive programs instead. There are a number of such programs in U.S., Europe as well as Asia which of course differ in terms of quality and focus.

But for the people who are looking for good stuff, I think the joint program offered by MIT Sloan School of Management and IMD Business School in Switzerland is a fine alternative. The next course will be held in November and it will last for 6 days.

The program is called "Managing the Extended Supply Chain: Beyond Productivity and Efficiency" and includes lectures and case studies in the following areas:

- The New Face of Competition
- Clockspeed and Strategic value chain Design
- Creating and Leveraging Supply Chain Flexibility
- Aligning Incentives
- Matching Global Supply with Global Demand
- Leading a Supply Chain Turnaround
- The Aftermarket in the Supply Chain
- Corporate Social Responsibility in the Supply Chain
- Management of Change in Complex Supply Chains

You can download the brochure of the program here.
