Security: Is that what is missing in Beijing Olympics supply chain?
Filed in archive Point of view on August 22, 2008

Beijing Olympics is a great logistics event from many aspects: More than 3 million athletes and journalists and spectators are gathering in the city, it is estimated that logistics services for the Games will cost US$5.8 billion.
Bangkok Post has written an article on the subject provideing very nice information on the topic and the vision of Chinese government on managing Olympics supply chain (You can read the article here).
However, one of the things I felt was missing was the issue of risk management and security: I just remembered the comment from Eric Joiner on Atlanta case which was highlighting the issue. In today's world which some nations are target of terrorist actions, risk management and security measures should also be taken into account.
What do you think?
