Schneider National gets best supplier award from P&G
schneider national was among 61 suppliers out of an 80,000-strong network to receive top honors at the Procter & Gamble supplier conference in mid-October in Cincinnati, SDCE reported.

Schneider received P&G's inaugural Excellence Award for consistently providing a high level of service to the multinational manufacturer. Schneider singled out its work with the consumer packaged goods giant on effect carbon footprint reporting and green supply chain initiatives.

"Procter and Gamble has such an extensive network of suppliers that having the Schneider name rise to the top truly is a great honor," said Steve Matheys, executive vice president of global commercial services at Schneider National. "Safe, hard-working drivers and strategic, dedicated customer service teams are at the heart of awards like this. We're proud to work with a company like Procter & Gamble to enhance the standard of living around the world."

In 2008, Schneider said it worked with Procter & Gamble to further its sustainability initiatives by participating in the global Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an independent, not-for-profit international organization aiming to highlight the implications for shareholder value and commercial operations presented by climate change. The information Schneider provided to Procter & Gamble for the CDP's survey helps them measure their carbon footprint and identify ways to create a greener supply chain.
