Schneider National, Inc., provider of transportation and logistics services, has been named the Supply Chain Provider of the Year for 2007 by jcpenney, Layover reported.

Established by JCPenney, the Supply Chain Provider of the Year award intends to recognize companies that excel in supply chain collaboration, including management attitudes and adherence to, and alignment with, JCPenney business goals. Numerous carriers as well as other supply chain providers were eligible for the award.

"Effective communication is a strong suit for Schneider at every level of the organization," said Marie Lacertosa, senior vice president and director of supply chain for JCPenney. "Their expertise, knowledge and influence in the transportation industry, combined with outstanding execution, deliver many benefits to our company."

Schneider National provides daily on-time delivery to more than 550 of JCPenney's 1,000-plus stores, utilizing over-the-road, dedicated and intermodal modes of transport, as well as Schneider's strategic supply chain expertise, long-term planning and collaboration. In 2007, the carrier played a vital role in the successful launch of the American Living brand, JCPenney's largest brand introduction to date, by delivering more than 1,400 loads of fixtures with a high level of on-time service-despite weather delays.
