Samsung contracts Penske Logistics for its operations in Brazil

Samsung Electronics has contracted Penske Logistics to manage its nationwide distribution chain of electro-electronics and cell phones in Brazil, Lay Over reported. Penske will coordinate all activity ranging from inbound receipt verification of imported products and shipments from Samsung factories in Manaus and Campinas, Brazil, to managing highway and air transportation for retail distribution.
Penske Logistics has built a new 130,000 sq ft distribution center in Sao Paulo, which will be useful for their operations.
Samsung has been in Brazil since 1986, and is a major player in the national market for monitors and hard disks for PCs. It is also one of the principal companies in the cellular telephony sector. With two industrial units in Manaus and Campinas, Samsung also works with products in the audio and video segments, printers, all-in-ones and optic discs.
Penske Logistics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Penske Truck Leasing, a joint venture of Penske Corporation and General Electric and operates in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Penske Logistics provides supply chain management and logistics services to major industrial and consumer companies throughout the world.
