My name is Marwa Hassan Abd El-monium ( B.D.S )
My rank in my class was the first between thirty two candidale . so, Iam now a demonstrator in orthodontic department , faculty of dental medicine , Al-Azhar univestiy .
I finished my first part of my master degree in orthodontics and now iam doing an in-vitro comparative study for partial fulfillment of requirment of master degree in orthodontics under the supervision of :
1. Prof , Samir A. Ibrahim
Professor and chairman of orthodontic department in faculty of dental medicine , Al-Azhar universtiy .
2. Prof , Hussam M. Abdel-Kader
Professor of orthodontics in faculty of dental medicine Al-Azhar universtiy. Cairo , Egypt .
This study aim to evalute the different factors that could affect the dynamic friction during sliding orthodontic tooth movement by using different types of brackets,archwires,and ligation..
To fulfill the aim of this study the following materials will be used ;
1. Direct bondable standard Edgewise brackets of the following types and numbers ;
Types of bracket Needed quantity
- conventional stainless steel brackets( 4-wing bracket) 30
- conventional stainless steel brackets( 6-wing bracket) 30
- ceramic bracket 30
- composite bracket 30
- self-ligating metal bracket 15
- self-ligating esthetic bracket 15

N.B :
The used brackets nearly must have the same mesio-distal dimention to make a mean of standarization during measurment of frictional values . 2. Rectangular 0.018*0.025 inch archwires of the following types :
- Stainless steel archwire
- Nitinol archwire
- Orthoflex archwire
- Teflon-coated archwire
3. The ligature of the following types :
- Steel ligation
- Metal ligation I could not find the needed six different types of standard Edgewise brackets with the same mesio-distal diminsion in my country . So,I am looking forward ,if it is possible to supply me with the needed brackets and archwires to complete my research.and I will forward the results of my study to you . I will send you a copy of my thesis after finish it and write your generous supply of materails in my acknolegment .
