Results from new Aberdeen's supply chain intelligence benchmark
Filed in archive Research on December 27, 2008
A new report published by Aberdeen Group features the importance of Supply Chain Intelligence for global companies. As the M&As, penetration into new markets, growing product and supplier portfolio are adding to the complexity of supply chains, the companies should use such technologies to achieve process excellence.
Aberdeen benchmark of 138 companies has identified some technology elements as enablers for SCI which I have brought below as a summary:

1) High-Level KPIs and supply chain dashboards: These features help C-level supply chain professionals to monitor supply chain performance metrics and also link them to financial metrics.
2) Analytics and data-intensive reports: These feature are designed for supply chain data analysts and help them to quickly go through the historical data and identify the root causes of the problems.
3) Embedded analytics built into cross-functional supply chain activities: These features are designed for activities such as S&OP and try to provide business users with adequate information for taking decisions.
