RedPrairie to buy global supply chain technology firm
Filed in archive News on January 25, 2006

Supply chain management software provider RedPrairie Corp. has agreed to buy MARC Global Holdings Inc. in a deal that will expand RedPrairie's regional coverage, customer base and service offerings, Milwaukee Business Journals reported.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Atlanta-based MARC Global Holdings is a provider of supply chain management products and services serving customers in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific region.
Its acquisition will broaden Waukesha-based RedPrairie's customer base while adding additional product capabilities and geographic coverage for support services, particularly in the Asia Pacific region where RedPrairie has no offices. MARC has offices in Beijing, Shanghai and in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia.
Integration of the two firms, which will operate under the name RedPrairie Corp., is expected to begin in early February.
The combined company is expected to have 738 employees at 21 locations worldwide. It is expected to have 2006 revenue of $172 million and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of $39 million. In late October 2005, the company had 650 employees and predicted 2005 revenue of $140 million.
Last week, RedPrairie said it agreed to buy Alta A/S, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based company that produces build-to-order software for automotive suppliers.
