By offering the ability to find relevant content in a wide range of repositories and formats using familiar Microsoft tools, RedPrairie has differentiated itself within the supply chain solutions segment. Combined with Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows Desktop Search, RedPrairie's supply chain data search results are delivered quickly and relevance is tuned for enterprise and line-of-business data. Users are able to easily find, use and share information in the context of where they are working, and with the familiar tools used every day.
"RedPrairie continues to work with Microsoft to develop technologies that help retail organizations optimize supply chain efficiencies," said Tim Gruver, director of technology strategy for Microsoft's Worldwide Retail Industry Group. "By integrating Microsoft desktop and enterprise search capabilities, RedPrairie solutions improve individual and organizational productivity throughout the supply chain by quickly connecting people to relevant information - helping them turn insight into action for faster and more informed decision making."
Says Joe Olson, RedPrairie vice president development, "this initiative provides tangible value to our customers by creating a native conduit from Windows Vista to RedPrairie's repository of services. We are now leveraging our SOA architecture in an entirely new way and simplifying the way people access critical business information that only RedPrairie's E2e solutions can provide. In short, we are placing both ends of the supply chain on the desktop and in your hands."
