PUMA selects Jesta I.S. solution for its retail chain in Europe and North America
Filed in archive Partnerships on February 5, 2007
The sports apparel company PUMA is set to implement a supply chain management solution from Jesta I.S. for its retail stores in the European Economic Area (EEA) and North America, SDCE reported.
With PUMA Retail business' rapid international growth and continued success in the global market, the company had outgrown its existing legacy system. PUMA needed to upgrade its business systems to handle the increased volume of transactions, as well as to implement a multilingual system that supported multiple currencies.
In evaluating merchandising and supply chain management systems, PUMA identified Jesta's Vision Merchandising and Vision SCM solutions as the technology infrastructure to provide it with the advanced product planning, forecasting and allocation capabilities it needed for its growing business.
"We selected Jesta's Vision Merchandising and Vision SCM based on Jesta's proven industry experience and solid product offering," said Michael Specht, global head of retail for PUMA.
Jesta's Vision Merchandising will provide PUMA with the tools to manage its complex business processes and will deliver real-time information across the enterprise, the solution provider said. Global access to real-time data from stores and warehouses enables stock balancing, targeted replenishments and improves operational efficiencies, Jesta said.
Furthermore, Vision Planning, an integrated module of Vision Merchandising, combines the functions of merchandise planning, financial planning and analysis into a tool that centralizes all data for one consistent view of planned performance, according to Jesta. With Vision Planning, corporate financial goals can be distributed across all levels of inventory, driving optimal buying decisions and enabling quick analysis and action, the solution provider said.
The Vision SCM solution is a Web-based system that will allow PUMA's retail division in the European Economic Area and North America to manage store operations and provide visibility at a corporate level, providing a view of available inventory for sale and order status in real-time for each store, Jesta said.
Jesta's other customers in the soft goods and specialty industries include Perry Ellis, Town Shoes Limited, UNIONBAY and Cole Haan.
