Polo´s new supply chain executive

Ane here is a news from MSN: Upscale clothing designer and retailer Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. said Tuesday it promoted two executives and hired an outside management consultant in its global supply chain, logistics and distribution operations.
The company said it promoted Howard Smith, who was previously senior vice president of supply chain in Europe, to divisional senior vice president of supply chain operations.
It also promoted Robbin Mitchell, formerly vice president of supply chain business process integration, to divisional senior vice president of business process integration.
Polo also named David G. Rush vice president of supply chain integration. Rush led the European supply chain execution practice from 2000 to 2004 at Kurt Salmon Associates, a management consulting firm focused on the retail industry. In his new post, he will head the company's supply chain design and architecture, and new business integration.
The promotions of Smith and Mitchell are effective immediately, while Rush will join the company on Nov. 29. All three will report to Russ G. LoCurto, senior vice President of Polo's supply chain, logistics and operations.
Polo shares fell $1.05 to $53.50 in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
