Outsourcing Accounts Payable still remains at low level

Filed in archive Research by ehsan on February 18, 2008

As business process outsourcinglinks becomes more important, companies try to find new processes to standardize and after HR, it`s now the time for Accounts Payable. But according to a new research by Aberdeen Group, the companies are currently outsourcing only few processes in this area (the highest percentage is document management which is 16%).

However, the landscape is promising and companies in the survey said that they are planning to almost double the level of outsourcing in their A/P processes. The below graph shows the future targets of the companies in the survey for the next 3 years:

It is clear from this graph that companies recognize that there are significant operational benefits and opportunities in continuing to leverage automated tools by outsourcing accounts payable - and companies are moving forward on this issue.
