Oracle will expand its supply chain planning applications with the acquisition of Redwood Shores, Calif.-based Demantra, a provider of demand-driven planning solutions, according to Industry Week.
Demantra offers solutions for demand management, sales and operations planning and trade promotion planning.
"We are giving customers access to proven, best-in-class demand and supply chain capabilities, combined with comprehensive ERP applications and technology infrastructure. This will allow companies to reduce their total cost of ownership, while increasing their ability to operate an integrated, information-driven enterprise," said Oracle senior vice president of applications development Rick Jewell.
