Supply Chain Guru Version 4.0, the new version of Llamasoft's network design software was released recently and represents a significant enhancement to many of the features and functions of the previous versions, including: improved data importation and modeling options, a new proprietary simulation engine, multi-time period optimization, comprehensive production process modeling, and expanded transportation modeling.

The development of Version 4 was driven by customer requirements in combination with LLamasoft's understanding of the additional capabilities required to take Supply Chain Network Design to the next level.

Key enhancements in Version 4 of Supply Chain Guru(tm) include the ability to:

- Dynamically acquire data from external sources during model runs (as opposed to having to pre-build the data in the model) Accurately model businesses with seasonality, such as retail and agriculture
- Locate manufacturing and distribution facilities based on weighted demand
- Perform enhanced and distributed manufacturing process modeling, such as work center processes, routings, changeovers, and cross-dock operations
- All of the output analysis, graphing, and visualization tools have also been enhanced to accommodate the enhancements in the system feature set.
