New report from Aberdeen considers innovation in warehousing processes a must
Filed in archive Research on February 1, 2009
The results of the new study by Aberdeen Group on WMS and distribution solutions again highlights importance of supply chain visibility to companies operating globally. But, some other insights which might be interesting for you are the trend towards doing more with less: As you can see from the following chart, nearly half of the warehouse managers are forced to support more sales out of their facilities. Another interesting issue I found in the new Aberdeen report is the importance of the warehousing processes.

The report mentions that more than 60% percent of the warehouse and supply chain managers are relying upon process change rather than WMS software for addressing their problems.
The authors also propose a series of actions to improve WM processes: Innovation in WM processes is one of the points emphasized by them as a must and they believe now it's the right time for doing it as companies have time to set their processes right before the economy move again.
