NASA outsources shipping to space
Christopher Sciacca has a nice post on NASA's current plans to outsource the shipments of water, food and clean clothes to the spaceships. In his blog, Who said supply chains are boring?, he brings a nice example:

Can you imagine this scenario, "Hi, this is Captain Smith of the International Space Station, we are running low on water and I was wondering were package #47382749273892 is in route"? Operator, "Hello, Captain Smith, that package is just passing the Ozone layer and should be docking at 15:00."

Who knows...maybe 20 years from now FedEx and DHL establish their own space 3PL service. What do you think?
