Ernesto Sanchez Proal, president of CADELEC, says his organization will sponsor, promote and actively participate in Mexitrónica 2006, scheduled to take place Tuesday through Thursday, October 10 through 12, at Expo Guadalajara.

CADELEC, a not-for-profit organization, was formed in 1997 by the leading electronics companies in Mexico. Its mission is to promote Mexican industry and to foster development of a robust, well-integrated supply chain connecting Mexico with international suppliers.

Founding companies include Jabil Circuit, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Intel, Solectron and SCI-Sanmina among others. Electronic industry exports of current CADELEC members represent more than 75 percent of the total export volume of Jaliscolinks.

"Our alliance with ROC Exhibitions, producers of Mexitrónica, allows us to elevate our industry profile on the global stage and better communicate the benefits of manufacturing in Mexico," said Sr. Sánchez Proal who also is Director General of Jabil Circuit's Operations in Guadalajara.

During the three-day Mexitrónica event next fall, CADELEC will operate a buying center on the trade show floor. It will feature office space where member companies, ready to purchase during the event, can conduct business with suppliers who are exhibiting there.

"Many of our members are entering a cycle when production lines should be refreshed with new equipment. Based on current trends, CADELEC expects that significant capital budgets will be approved over the course of this year," says Sr. Sánchez Proal, explaining the rational behind Mexitrónica's buying center.

"We are thrilled to be working with CADELEC to better promote the electronics manufacturing industry here," says Marc Rosenstock, president of ROC Exhibitions. "Mexico has a great story to tell about the resurgence of its electronics manufacturing business. Today, Mexico's remarkable comeback since the turn of this decade is evident in the country's US$52 billion multi-dimensional industry."

ROC Exhibitions holds equity positions in 10 trade shows it organizes each year in the United States and Mexico. In addition to electronics manufacturing, it serves the fields of facilities management, fire-and-life safety, law enforcement and security, telecom, food technology, metalworking and construction.
