Broadlane announced recently that MedCath Corporation, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, has selected Broadlane to provide an array of supply chain services under an exclusive agreement. Financial terms were not announced.

In order to effectively manage their $250 million in supply spend, MedCath will have full access to Broadlane's industry leading national contract portfolio for consumable supplies, pharmaceuticals, purchased services and capital equipment. This includes Capital Equipment Services that feature Live Group Buys -- Broadlane's unique medical capital equipment sourcing program -- quote reviews and bulk buys. Broadlane will also provide enhanced clinical Pharmacylinks Services including Broadlane's Medication Use Management (MUM) program.

In addition, MedCath will take advantage of Broadlane's Informatics & Data Services including OnRamp, Broadlane's Contract Management System, BroadLink™ (Broadlane's proprietary e-commerce exchange), Purchasing Services and spend analysis.

"MedCath has specific supply chain needs so we looked closely at the market, evaluated our options and chose Broadlane. They have the strongest national contract portfolio we saw during our evaluation and they customized their service offering to meet those needs," said Phil Mazzuca, MedCath's chief operating officer. "We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with Broadlane as we work to more effectively manage our supply costs."

"We could not be more pleased to have earned MedCath as a client. Their due diligence was thorough and rigorous," said David Ricker, Broadlane's president and chief operating officer. "We believe the strength of our national contract portfolio, combined with our service offerings and focus on achieving quantifiable savings and improvements in overall supply chain performance, will provide MedCath with a supply chain solution that will drive savings and best-in-class performance."
