Forrester Research recently took a close look at the current stateof warehouse management systems and transportation systems. Accordingto analyst Nikki Baird, "Manhattan Associates still maintains itsleadership in warehouse management solutions, even while making movesinto the larger integrated supply chain planning/supply chainexecution space ... Manhattan's new service-oriented architecturestrikes a balance between configurability and integrated bestpractices that allows customers to limit the need for customizationswhile still providing best-in-class processes."
In addition to its warehouse management expertise, on which thecompany was founded, the 2002 acquisition of Logistics.comstrengthened Manhattan Associates' position in the transportationmanagement space. Since that time, it has focused, invested furtherand taken a solid leadership position. "Overall, Manhattan Associatesestablishes itself as the lead in ground transportation solutions,"stated Noha Tohamy of Forrester. "The vendor edges out the competitionwith a solid foundation in both planning and procurement, andunmatched carrier and fleet
management offerings."Other analyst reports validate Manhattan Associates' leadershipposition. In October 2005, AMR Research reported, "Manhattan isrecognized as the market revenue leader among the specialty WarehouseManagement Solution vendors, and is one of only a few public non-ERPsupply chain software companies. Manhattan is a low-risk choice forcompanies concerned with international deployments, as large customerbases in major global regions will attest, especially noting recentsuccess in China."
"Our research also confirms that based on recent enterprise salesof strategic Transportation Management solutions, Manhattan Associatesis the current leader for complex transportation projects," statedBeth Enslow, Aberdeen Group. "Sales over the last 18-24 monthsindicate that they continue to gain market share and have attractedenterprises looking for new supply chain innovations."
This recognition from third party industry experts are keyindependent indicators that Manhattan Associates' strategy and solutions are resonating with both customers and the marketplace.
