Maersk invests in european ports

Maersk, the world's largest container-shipping line, announced its subsidiary, APM Terminals' joint venture with French stevedoring group Perrigault SA-termed Terminal Porte Oceane-has signed a concession agreement with the Port Autonome du Have re to operate and manage a new container terminal in Port 2000, Le Havre.
According to Logistics Management, the terminal is schedule for opening in the fall of 2007 and features over 2,000 feet of berth, with ancillary services, and a full suite of container handling equipment including post Panamax ship to shore cranes.
The joint venture has been approved by the French Competition Authorities.
