Jet Blue restructures its supply chain

If you remember couple of months ago Jet Blue, American airline company, had many problems making money after a long run of bad lucks. Since then the company as taken many initiatives to cut costs and return to profitability and one of the obvious areas is supply chain. The company yesterday announced the appointment of Glenn Hipp to the position of Vice President - Supply Chain and Fuel. Mr. Hipp will be responsible for company-wide sourcing efforts, corporate purchasing, as well as JetBlue's fuel procurement strategy. He will report to John Harvey, JetBlue's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

According to Prime NewsWire, Mr. Hipp joins JetBlue from southwest airlines in Dallas, where since 1993 he has held various positions of increasing responsibility in the Fuel Department, most recently as Director of Fuel Purchasing and Inventory Management. Prior to Southwest, Mr. Hipp was the Vice President of Equipment for Triton Fuel Group in Dallas, responsible for the construction, procurement, management, and maintenance of a fleet of aviation refuelers.
