Instill Corp., a provider of technology solutions and services for the foodservice industry, said it has launched a series of workshops designed to help foodservice operators increase the effectiveness of their supply chain management efforts.
Jeff Smith, Instill's vice president of Marketing commented that Instill has been working with leading foodservice companies for over 10 years, helping them to optimize processes around purchasing, inventory management, quality and compliance, master data management, and other supply chain issues.
The workshops, he said, are designed to translate those best practices and real-world knowledge to foodservice operators so they can better address key supply chain challenges.
Workshops are customized to cover topics of specific interest to each individual organization, and typically include cross-functional participation by individuals with hands-on responsibility for purchasing, category management, logistics and finance.
Participants have an opportunity to learn how other industry leading organizations are addressing supply chain challenges in a variety of arenas, addressing topics such as:
Best practices for monitoring contract price compliance and leveraging purchasing information to gain system-wide visibility into the supply chain
Maximizing the value of promotions and limited time offers while avoiding stock-outs and over-stocks
Effective management of specifications, recalls, audits, complaints, and general quality issues in the supply chain
Reducing the burden on unit managers of ordering / receiving while ensuring order guide compliance
Best practices for organizing, communicating, and managing product numbers, trading partners, and other key master data
Sessions are typically a half or full day, and are facilitated by foodservice professionals with expertise in manufacturing, purchasing, operations and distribution.
"We've seen a lot in the last 10 years, and have a pretty good idea what works and what doesn't work when it comes to supply chain management in the foodservice industry," said Anthony Wilson, president and CEO of Instill Corp. "These workshops will provide foodservice operators some great insight into how forward-thinking companies are tackling key supply chain management issues."
