Infor gets new contract in Auto industry
Infor, one of the largest global providers of enterprise software, today announced that Decoma International, Inc. has deployed Infor ERP TRANS4M in a just-in-time environment at its new Toledo, Ohio facility. Decoma is a division of Magna International, Inc., one of the world's largest automotive industry suppliers, and TRANS4M has a track record of success at other Magna facilities. Decoma, which manufactures exterior vehicle appearance systems, selected the solution for its integrated electronic data interchange (EDI), financials and general ledger, and custom programming support capabilities.

TRANS4M's EDI functionality enables the company to meet major OEM requirements and realize cost-savings by eliminating a value-added network. Infor's integrated solution provides Decoma with a comprehensive view across its operations in areas such as sales, marketing, manufacturing, financials, and service.

"We were looking for a common system with deep automotive functionality," said Steve Sass, IT manager, Decoma. "Infor's robust solution is geared directly for the automotive market and has the flexibility, security, visibility and intuitive interface we need for day-to-day users."

According to Tech Links, the cost of implementation and rapid installation timelines were also key factors in Decoma's decision to select Infor. The entire project took just five months and met the company's budget requirements.
