IBM's strategy for the future of ILOG supply chain solution
Filed in archive merger and acquisition on January 9, 2009

As you might remember, IBM completed the acquisition of the supply chain optimization company ILOG last July and at the time I was wondering what IBM wants to do with ILOG in the future.
Apparently IBM wants to combine ILOG features within the broader capability offerings of its WebSphere and the company claims that it is guaranteeing clients' and partners' investments in existing IBM and ILOG technologies, allowing customers to take advantage of the now broader set of capabilities without replacing existing systems.
As it was highlighted in a new press announcement by IBM, the company sees future of LOG within the context of its SOA vision and wants to include ILOG Business Rule Management System to IBM's business process management portfolio. The company also wants to take advantage of visualization capabilities of ILOG solutions and include that in its own BPM products.
