Hurricanes always say hello to Florida so make your supply chain resilient
Again another hurricane storm in Florida and lots of damages to companies' supply chains...This is not a headline from CNN, but a simple warning.

My whole supply chain is corrupted, What should I do now? I hate this question, so If I were the Chief Supply Chain Officer of a company based in Florida, I would make sure that such things never happen.

I have written on Katrinas and the necessity of using Risk management packages available in almost all the SCM solutions. This time, I want to write more on culture: Yossi Sheffi, a professor at MIT, believes that great savior of companies from Katrinas is not using risk assessment techniques, multi-sourcing, or technology but developing a type of culture in the company when all the people at all layers GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING IMMEDIATELY.

In his book, The Resilient Enterprise: Overcoming Vulnerability for Competitive Advantage, he looks at different examples and case studies when companies face disruption in their supply chains. I recommend this book to all of you: It won't take more than one Sunday from you, but you will find valuable insights on how to make your supply chain resilient...
