Evaluation of the ERP solutions available in the market

Filed in archive Research on October 19, 2007

I recently read a report by Aberdeen Group on "The Total Cost of the ERP Ownership" which was basically a high-level evaluation of the well-known ERP solutions in the market. Aberdeen used the survey method and asked a vast range of companies to score ERP packages in respect to dimensions such as: Cost of purchase per employee, cost of service after implementation, etc. The result was the table which you can see below.

At the end, Aberdeen found out that there is not a single companies as the best performer in all the categories (YES, that´s not surprising!) but each company is good at some thing:

- In respect to software cost per user: Infor in #1
- Regarding total cost per user: Epicor is #1
- Best average performance improvement: Lawson is #1
- Highest number of modules used: SAP and Epicor are #1

I´m not quite sure whether the results of this survey are based mainly on the U.S. market or not but anyway it seems that Epicor wants to join the club of the big guys.
