"Demand-driven strategy" tops supply chain managers' priorities, new SCM survey finds

E2open, a provider of supply chain management software, recently conducted a survey on the highest-priority supply chain initiatives in the companies surprisingly 48 percent identified evolving from a "push" to "pull," demand-driven strategy as their highest priority. This clearly shows that new concepts such as lean logistics and six sigma supply chain are gaining popularity. The other priorities they listed were as follow:
- 45 percent identified operational improvement programs - obtaining visibility into supply chain information by replacing manual processes with automation
- 39 percent identified globalization - leveraging economies of scale across multiple operating units
