Dell overhauls its supply chain
Filed in archive Did you know , Market Overview on January 12, 2010

I don't know whether you heard about it or not but apparently Dell is closing down its Texas plant and moves into contract manufacturing. After a number of not very satisfactory financial performance, it seems that Michael Dell is quite determine to overhaul its supply chain.
Last week, Mike Cannon, who used to be CEO of Solectron and now leads Dell supply chain operations announced the news:
According to his presentation, the amount of complexity which traditional Dell replenishment offered was beyond what customers valued.
With the fall of a big icon (at least temporarily) we must wait and see what is the next pioneer supply chain...
And if you consider to buy a nice Dell Computer for yourself I would recommend that you use Dell Coupons to get even better deals.
