Converge create reverse logistics competencies

According to Purchasing Magazine, The MA based electronics distributor Converge has formed a new reverse supply chain solutions group to provide comprehensive materials management services to OEMs and electronics contract manufacturers.

The new division combines the previous asset recovery division and expanded service offerings, including vendor managed inventory programs, service parts testing and screening, intelligent redeployment and warranty evaluations.

"More often than not, the reverse supply chain is viewed as a cost center, but we've developed comprehensive solutions that can extract tremendous value from it," says John Borrelli, director of the reverse supply chain solutions division at Converge. "For example, we're finding that 40% of hard drives and up to 70% of microprocessors coming back from field service have no trouble found and are actually good," he says.
