Chris Poole joins PA Consulting Group's supply chain team
Filed in archive Employment on December 27, 2006
According to Consultant News, after a long and very successful career with Procter and Gamble, (P&G), Chris Poole has joined PA Consulting Group as a member of the management team, where his focus will be on helping PA's clients to meet the challenges presented by their supply chain.
During his time at Procter and Gamble, Poole undertook roles in sales, marketing, merchandising, logistics, worked as Logistics Director for the UK and Eire and Nordic Regions, and was latterly Director of Physical Distribution for Western Europe. In that role his responsibilities were to define and deliver the logistics infrastructure for Western Europe to meet customer service and cost requirements. In the UK he invested heavily in building multi-category distribution centres which allowed retailers to buy all of P&G's grocery products from one place thus improving service and reducing inventory and truck miles. In Europe he was one of the architects of the integration of Gillette into the P&G supply chain.
Poole will be working with PA's clients to achieve the right service/cost balance through a consumer-driven approach to supply - identifying first what it takes to win with consumers at the shelf and then designing the supply chain back from there to deliver that.
