China will be the leader in manufacturing, research finds
For a long period of time, in fact more than one hundred years, U.S. has been the number one nation to have the largest share of production in the world but according to a new research by Global Insight, the power will be on China side in the year 2009.

As you can see below, even though U.S. is much higher in terms of GDP, it's highly service-based and this trend is increasing. This certainly has a number of consequences as the country in supply chain area as it has to become much more efficient in supply chain coordination, creating and maintaining core competencies in service area and and try to have partial ownership in China's increasing production capacity.
