The China Supply Chain Council, China's largest professional organization for supply chain professionals, announced today it is undergoing the appropriate procedures to change its organization name to Global Supply Chain Council.

As the independent professional organization, the China Supply Chain Council has been providing for 4 years supply chain, logistics, sourcing and procurement executives with knowledge and skills through conferences, professional trainings, in-house training, newsletters and benchmarking. Today, the Council organizes and supports more than 50 events in China and communicates with 20,000+ senior executives from leading companies, primarly manufacturing and retailing companies, to optimize their value chain in China.

"Our name change will better reflect our corporate identity, and the significant growth that we have taken for the past year within inland China, and overseas in India and vietnamlinks," said Max Henry, Founder & Executive Director. "A vast array of forces - including globalization, global sourcing dynamics, human resources scarcity, high costs, environmental pressures, ethical and social issues - are reshaping these high-growth markets. These forces and changes will cause global CEOs to ask supply chain leaders in Asia to take on a broader, more strategic mission and to deliver a higher level of performance. We believe our name change will impart increased brand recognition among manufacturers and retailers in Asia, our members and supply chain leaders as we expand our presence all over Asia."

According to Newswire Today, Representing almost 500 members and a community of some 10,000 companies and several hundred thousand employees, the Council strives to serve its members and the general interests of the supply chain profession in Asia. The Council offices are located in Shanghai, Hong Kong and New Delhi.
