According to Automotive Business Review, Ceva has said that its solution incorporates domestic, European and international transport. Ceva will also be responsible for managing a storage facility at Aston Martin's Gaydon production plant and a 120,000sqft warehouse at Banbury, Oxfordshire.
In addition, Ceva will handle sequencing, kitting and line feeding operations incorporating just in time, production line parts replacement based on the Kanban concept, and Lean principles.
Nick Cullen, managing director of Ceva Logistics for UK and Ireland, said: "We are delighted to provide Aston Martin with a responsive supply chain solution. The contract has enabled Ceva to re-enter the UK's automotive car assembly market, a sector in which Ceva holds a dominant position globally."
